After the late and legendary local actor, Frank Vincent, read the screenplay for "Bad News on the Doorstep", his first comment was, "The music will be important."
"Yes," I reacted. "Like in all of Scorsese's movies, and ... of course, in 'The Godfather', and the likes of 'American Graffitti', 'LaBamba'".
"Well, your project needs a little more work before you can begin speaking about those movies in the same breathe," was his cool response.
Of course, I was embarrassed, but so pleased the musical and acting impressario from the neighborhood had at least taken the time to read the script, and comment on the key role the right music of the time period would play. In any event, below is a link to the suggested music for the movie. Indeed, it's from the heart of Rock 'n' Roll and Doo-wop.
... and, rest in peace, Frankie Vincent.
