Much is learned from the Broadway play and the HBO special on the late, great coach, Vince Lombardi. Most of all was his concern for the misinterpretation of ... "Winning isn't everthing, ... it's the only thing." The good coach was really speaking of focus, commitment, and concentration, which is surely the winning way of performing that guarantees success in all endeavors. Focus on the field on what you are doing, leave it all there, and there will be no regrets.
Well, Secret #1 in Now or Never: The 11 Secrets of Arimathea, is all about such focus on the moment. While there is so much to respect about the iconic coach from the NY/NJ area, if only his own focus did not blurr as he contemplated the uncertainty of his future games, while ignoring his deteriorating physical condition.
Perhaps, like so many flawed heroes, his own limitations serve his legacy as they teach us today; i.e., Do as I say, not as I did.
Still, in the end, the Super Bowl Trophy is named the Lombardi Trophy... rest in peace, great Coach.
