There was a time, not so long ago, when Joe Cervasio's older daughter Tina Cervasio referred to legendary Cornell All American and Hollywood actor Ed Marinaro as ... "Uncle Eddie." With her dad and Mr. Marinaro being friends since Cornell and still close exchanging business strategies and family stories regularly, Tina refers to her trip to "Uncle Eddie's" when interviewed about her career decisions.
"Yes, Ed's hospitality and tour guide spirit back in the New Year's week of December '85/January '86 gave her the idea it should be sports broadcasting," remembers Joe. "We were in California for the UCLA-IOWA Rose Bowl, Ed invited my wife Maria, Tina and our younger daughter Corrine for one of his brunch specials at his home in Beverly Hills, ... and the rest is history. His graciousness, the trip the next day to the set of 'Hill Street Blues'--Ed's employer for some special years--and then the Rose Bowl made Tina's decision... at the ripe old age of 12!"
