The business world has its own equivalent of the Academy Awards, put on every year by the American Business Awards. Theirs are called "Oscars" (no one knows quite why). Ours are called "Stevies" (the Greek word for "crowned")
This past Monday night, June 12, Joe's company Bluegreen Corporation was crowned as "Best Overall Company" (in the over 2500 employees category) for the preceding year.
Joe Cervasio was on hand at the Marriott Marquis in New York to accept the award, on behalf of Bluegreen Corporation President, George Donovan, and Chief Operating Officer, John Maloney, and all the great people who work for Bluegreen. Joe was accompanied by Lisa Thornhill, Bluegreen's Corporate Director of Communications.
Bluegreen Corporation is a timeshare and residential land development company based in Boca Raton. Founded in 1966, Bluegreen creates and sells "Colorful Places to Live and Play(R)." With over 150,000 owners, Bluegreen Resorts markets a flexible, real estate-based vacation ownership plan that provides access to over 40 resorts, an exchange network of over 3,700 resorts and other vacation experiences such as cruises and hotel stays.
Many awards were given out that evening. But the highlight of the night was Bluegreen's award. Unbelievable!
